“This Is . . . Me Taking A Picture of Myself In the Mirror With My Favourite Accessory.”

this weeks "this is" theme is from the lovely Johanna over at One Red Robin
this is my driving in the car with my fave accessory - my sunnies. Anyone that knows me knows that my sunnies are a permanent fixture on my head - be it on my face of on top of my head. Even in my last drivers licence photo I managed to get away with them on my head!! I have about 8 or 9 pairs that I swap around to match my outfit each day.

30 days of the Everyday...day Nineteen

i walked out onto my balcony this morning and could have sworn that the city was on fire.
The sky was a brilliant mix of reds and oranges, and if you look really close in the bottom right hand corner, you can see the Sydney city skyline, with billowing clouds that look just like smoke
(and no, this photo is not doctored in any way. Those were the EXACT colours in the sky!)

7 things....

I was tagged by the lovely Claire and have been a total slacker and haven't got around to posting. So here goes....

1. I have a bit of a fascination with taking photos in cemetries. It sounds completely morbid, but they have the most beautiful stone statues and always have stunning flowers. Is that wrong??

2. My first cat's name was Schooner (my dad named her, and yes sh was named was after a schooner glass!)

3. I've only been out of the country twice - once to the US and once to Hawaii. (yes, yes I KNOW they're both the US, but Hawaii doesn't feel like it's in America)

4. This Jetty in the Central Coast is named after my family. Parry's Jetty

5. My first name is actually Rebecca, but nobody calls me that. I always used to sepll my name Beck, but when I went to uni I decided to drop the K, so it became Bec (truly, i am a dork!)

6. I worked in a pub for 3 years and completely loved it. Sometimes I think about quitting my job in an office and going back to the pub. I always had the funnest times work there

7. I am an only child, and incredibly spoilt!! nah, I'm not spoilt but I DID get everything I ever wanted as a child - but I always had to work to get it.

Well now I need to find seven bloggers who haven't been tagged......i might get around to that a little later...
Ciao!

Lunie Park

For something completely different to do, a group of use decided to go to Luna Park (or Lunie Park as it has always been known as in my family) on Friday night. I went there a few years ago, quite smashed at a work function, so I didn't get to appreciate how gorgeous it really is!!

It's so nice to see that they've kept a heap of the old vintage stuff from the old days like posters and photographs and I even saw a few of those old clown heads that you throw balls into. It;s a pity though that it really does attract a dodgey crowd of teeny boppers thrilled to bits that they're "out on the town" with other little 14 year olds........i'm getting old and crotchety now!!

They also had some really old games in Coney Islnad - although I wasn't quite game enough to play this one!!

30 days of the Everyday...day eighteen

i am the blog-lands slowest "30 days" poster I think!!

After vowing to buy only 4 ROMAN BLINDS at IKEA, Mr Honi and I came home with: 4 roman blinds, 2 rugs, a chopping board, serviettes (with a very pretty pink print) wall hooks, and 2 MASSIVE canvases (see above pic) I don't think I have EVER bought ONE thing at IKEA!!!

Happy Valentines Day!!!

I found this classic vinatge "submissive kitty" card on this site and it cracked me up...There's a whole heap of Vintage cards on there - check them out!!

This is....what makes me laugh out loud..

Thanks to Poppalina for this weeks "this is...." meme
Am I allowed to use videos??
Becuase this is what makes me laugh out loud.
Talking animals.

If I'm not allowed to use a video, then I'd have to say Mr Honi is what makes me laugh out loud. He always knows what to say to make me smile and to make me laugh - wether it be a small giggle or a full on belly shaking laugh.

Are there any other Sydney girls who are Faraway Members???

New Toy

For the highly costly price of $15.50 I managed to win this little beauty from eBay!! *squeals with delight* She needs a bit of TLC, but I will hopefully restore her to her former glory this weekend. I have been wanting onje for AGES now, but haven't been able to fork out a good $200 for a decent one.
I like the fact though that she's been well loved and that I can enjoy restoring her!

This is....Sunday Lunch

This is......Sunday Lunch (topic this week picked by the lovely Lark)
My Honi and I were too busy driving back to Sydney from Port Macquarie on Sunday, so we didn't have the usual lavish lunch we do on a Sunday. We had a bag of hot chips from the servo, but I forgot to take a pic!

WIP: Quilt

Well, slowly but surely, my first quilt is coming together. By the time I probably finish it Mr Honi and I will have frozen our toes off this winter!!!

Here is my pile of squares to sew

some sewn squares

and all the sewn sqaures laid out. I'm pretty happy with it- although I'll need to make sure the colours all blend in well. It's meant to have a white square in between each coloured square, but I kinda think I like it like this!

sunset at a concert

what a perfect sunset....which ended a magical day. Surround by friends, a few festive drinks (although I didn't feel too festive the next morning!) good music and then an amazing display by millions of bats (which you can just see in this pic)

This is my.....

this is.....my collection!
well, one of them anyway!! Like Hyena in Petticoats and Starashan I Love teacups. Dainty ladies tea cups. I especially love pulling them out for a girls "high tea". I love the look of a mis-matched tea set. but I also collect figurines and mini viewers that I posted about here and vintage cards, books, buttons, and "little things" like I have pocket versions of uno, operation and etch-a-sketch.

I really am slck with posting on time with this game. Sorry girls!!

NEW SHOP!!!

Ok....I am totally stoked, excited and a little sickie in a nervous kinda way.......

I have just signed up for my very first online shop through Big Cartel. I am super nervous and have a lot of work to do on it.

First off I think I need the help of a more talented graphic designer - preferrably one that doesn't use Microsoft paint to create their banner (as I attempted last night!)

I will be selling handmade things I have made such as dresses, jewellery, quilts (when I get a few more under my belt) and a range of vintage items my Great Aunty gave to me to sell for her - such as these little beauties!

I haven't loaded anything on there as yet as I need to sort out all my accoutns and stuff. but bookmark it, and I'll post updates as soon as I've loaded a few goodies on there! :)

Mr Honi the chef..

...it's so nice having Mr honi at home with me....especially when he makes amazingly tasty pizzas like these for dinner!!

gordon ramsay eat your heart out!!!!

30 days of the Everyday...dat thirteen

a lot of blog posts to catch up on today!!! been a little slack!
bend and stretch..reach for the stars...... Looked like buttons (aka Steve as Mr Honi has now re-named her) was partaking in a little yoga the other night

30 days of the Everyday...day twelve

an interesting log at my bus stop....it seems that all i do is spend time at the bus stop!! Actually, it's just that I can take photo's there and not feel like i'm intruding on people's privacy, or feel like i'm about to get yelled at for taking a photo of someone.

30 days of the Everyday...day eleven

a storms a coming....
