Just a bit of a sneak peak at the Skirt I'm making for my sewing class. It's good because I'm learning how to sew properly- losing all the bad habits I've taught myself, and finally finding out exactly what on earth a 'nap' is; and no, it's not a short sleep!
The Skirt is a cotton sateen, Simplicity pattern #2807 and is sitting on beloved dress form that Mr Honi bought me.
In the background you can see a glimpse of my inspiration wall too.

I've left that clothes sewing thing far behind me... a nap will forever be a short sleep for me.
So glad you're enjoying your class.
Looks lovely. Where are you taking your class? I am in desperate need for a crash course! xo m.
The skirt is lovely. There is a tailors dummy in my creative space this week too! :)
i started off doing it right, now i bend all the rules. good on you. and i must protest-a nap is a glorious short sleep whether it is taken on velvet or not
Nice mannequin!
Even nicer sewing table!
And... what the hell IS a nap?! I've been too embarassed to ask...
Nice skirt - like the colours in the fabric. A good for you learning about nap, now that you know, you could maybe take a nap! Nic
Just beautiful Bec :) it looks positively luscious with all those gorgeous colours. Love your dummy too. K
The skirt is looking lovely! Lucky you to have a dress form. I have the perfect studio except for the lack of a dressform. If you were already sewing before your course you do very well with the added knowledge! Great inspiration wall!
