On My desk Wednesday
Firstly, on my chair - StevieB has decided that my swivel chair is now her new bed. She sleeps there ALL night!
Then on my desk are these 2 guys waiting to dry befoire I add some findings and trimmings to make them brooches. Then, they'll be added to Etsy :) It's been too long since I've added anything on there and since I need to pay for a wedding, I need to start selling all the things I make!

Sneak Peak..
And I bought some air dry clay (remember the stuff you used to play with as a kid? "Dats" i think?) Got a few ideas for this little guy. Will post development pics later!
Affair to remember....well a fair to remember actually
The inside of the house has been kept as it was in 1950's including the appliances - I LOVED this mixer
and the furniture which Seidler also designed. There is a really funky mural on the outside wall
There were also heaps of people there showing off their vintage cars. This dude had an awesome little caravan too!
i REALLY wanted to go inside but you couldn't. It was completely decked out in 50's stuff. I was in heaven!!
So my purchases - a 1955 Home Beautiful magazine with some killer articles
hhmm..think I might get me one of those swanky hair-dos
I bought a little brooch and a kewpie doll too, but that was it :)

This is....My favourite childrens book
Pottymouth mama chose this weeks theme ...This is My Favourite Childrens book
Alice In Wonderland (and Through the Looking Glass) was always my favourite story growing up. I used to go to sleep every night listening to a audio book of it as well.
The movie was my complete favourite movie as well. I think it was this scene that gave me my love of flowers – especially pansy’s
Following a clsoe second was "the Folk of the Faraway Tree" (and other stories)
and in Third place "The Wind in the Willows".
Weekend Sewing
Then we spent the rest of the the weekend chilling out together, going for a bushwalk, shopping and I managed to get a HEAP of sewing done. I fixed my ripped jeans and did another 30 odd squares for the quilt.
Here she is! BUT, I still need about 60 squares :( We laid it out then both of us lay ontop of it to measure the size. I'm sure there's an easier way though! Just needs about another 2-3 columns and maybe 1 more row.
It's come a LONG way since I started last year (below) but I don't think I'm going to be able to finish it by the end of Winter!!

Sometimes I love my work
Generally I don't have much of a need to travel to the other buildings, but I had a meeting in one of them the other day.
I hadn't seen this floor before and completely fell in love with the colour scheme and the gorgeous dark wood furniture.....(sorry the pics are a bit blurry!!)
Little gathering / lunch area with wicker stools, and great wall decals
Long 12 people lunch table area that I would kill to have in my house! (if I had an area that would fit it in!)
"Hot Desk" area with funky twisted lampshades made from made from that lightweight wood - kinda like skewers. Reminded me of my old Spirograph. I loved my Spirograph.

2 little projects..
The wonderfully supportive MrHoni said he'd divorce me (after we're married) next year if I don't get off my bum and actually start selling all the bits and pieces I make and talk about making.
So last night I managed to get 2 little projects off the ground!!
I've been really into and fascinated by Wire twisting lately and decided to use an old cordless drill to twist 4 bits of coloured wire (all stripped from an old television) together. I then wrapped the wire around nails that I hammered into a piece of wood in a circular pattern- and these twisty earrings above are the result. I'm pretty happy with them actually!
And this little munki man is the beginning of 2 projects - Mr Honi wanted a Tshirt with a monkey on it - so I'm going to try and either use fabric paint to stencil it on a shirt (or attempt screen printing!!) I also thought it would be a cute pattern for a few singlets I want to make for 2 dear friend who are having babies in a few months.

Things that made me smile in NZ
Takapuna beach that was FILLED with shells. I spent ages with Mr Honi's niece (and-soon-to-be-my-niece) selecting pretty shells When I say filled, I mean FILLED - there was hardly any sand at all!
Pretty flowers on a walk into Auckland City.
It's taken me a while to download these pics - I finally worked out how to to use my new fandangled phone which has bluetooth to send images to the computer
Running....hhmmm...maybe walking just for now...

Back into the swing of quilting...
After unpacking the last of the boxes the other night I am now free to potter away in here. So I've realised that I only have a few weeks left before the end of Winter - which was the goal to finish my quilt. It's long enough now - just needs to be a bit wider. I've tried to only use 2 squares of matching material which is proving challenging - but a very good excuse to get lots of fat quarters or scraps of materials from op shops!!!
I'm loving my new "self repairing cutting mat", fabric cutter, and chalk pencil!! Makes cutting and pinning squares sooo much easier!

Bick frum New Zilund
After the mammoth move Mr Honi and I went to visit some of this family in New Zealand for 5 days It was a great little break but I only wish it had been longer!
Mr Honi bought me this gorgeous 70's style long neck cat filled with pretty flecks of Paua shell.
We've nearly finished the unpacking - only about 3 boxes to go then I think then we're done!! Still a lot of work to do in my "mini craft zone" but it's getting there and feeling nice and cosy. We have our engagement party this weekend, so hopefully after that I will have a lot of free time to get my crafty butt into gear :)
Stay tuned for some better and more interesting posts!!
Oh, and I bought myself a new camera!! WOO HOO!!!!
