My Creative Space Thursday

After another little posting hiatus, I'm back on the Thursday bandwagon!! This week I'm displaying some of the reasoning behind some of lazy posting.

I have been a busy bee and have almost completely tidied up my Creative Space, to allow for more effective Creativity!

Is that a fabric shop I hear you say?? No dear readers, this is my collection of vintage fabrics, many of which I found in my Grandmas sewing box. To tidy them up and store in them in a way which allowed for easy access, I cut up all the removalist boxes (seen below) and used them to make fabric bolts.

The other benefit of this exercise (other than neatness) is that I can now see the wide variety of fabric I actually own!

And although the above looks a little messy, it is actually all my vintage tins which hold my colour coded threads and buttons, lace, and sewing bits and bobs.

This is the before shot. I'll take and After shot on my newly purchased Canon 1000D soon!!!!

MyCreative Space this week (thanks for hosting Kirsty!) - Wedding planning crafting.
I'm totally loving it!!
I'll feel a little lost I think once the wedding is over. I'll have have to create a whole new lot of crafty projects for myself!!



the cards in the left hand corner are Moo Mini Cards. They are just the bestest thing EVER! If you don't have a business card, go get yourself some of these!! We got some printed to tie onto the Bonbonnerie (or as Mr Honi says..Bomaderry)

Continuing with the MyCreative Space meme from Kirsty at Kootoyoo I decided to show you something a bit different.

My Creative Space this week is my kitchen. I made Wantons a few nights ago and I was super impressed with how they turned out. They were delicious little parcels - and they looked so great in the steamer I just had to take a pic!!

This weekend though, I'd like to go to the Beach for "My Creative Space" I bought a $10 underwater camera from Vinnies yesterday- I don't think it's ever been used. I bought it to take on the Honeymoon for some fun snorkeling shots in Hawaii. Hope it works!!

My Creative space this week is my coffee table (game curtesy of the lovely Kirsty at Kootoyoo).

I finally went through my leaning tower of "Real Living" and "House and "Garden" magazines, and cut out all the inspirational pictures.

I like to keep magazines, but as i get 2-3 each month they clutter up the house pretty quickly. So i only keep Frankie magazines in full (because every page is just sooo good!) and I cut out the articles and pictures I like in the other magazines and stick them into a special book.

Then I give the mags to Mum to read.

I LOVE my coasters along the top of the table. Mr Honi bought them from NZ for me last year.

AND I love having all my pens in rainbow coloured order. I have done this since I was child with my Crayola set. I hated those kids who would break them or mix up the colour arrangement!



this is one of my fave room designs - I love the floral chair mixed with the bright walls and spotted lamp shade.

My creative space (from the lovely Kirsty over at Kootoyoo) this week is my sewing/craft table. I've been making a pretty Valentines card for Mr Honi, but as he occasionally reads this blog I can't post a picture till later :)

This weeks creative space....brought to you from my lovely new stable table. I am slowly but surely maknig my way through writing all our wedding invitations.

We bought an embosser to do our initials on the cover. My bridesmaids dresses are the colour of the ribbon

I've taken a bit of a different tack today. I've been hellishly busy this week and haven't dedicated nearly enough time to crafting. So for this weeks "creative space" I've decided to post a pic of one of my drawings - that has ended up on the wrist of a friend.

It's quite an honour to have something you've drawn, tattooed forever onto someone else!!

This week sees my kitchen bench as my creative space (thankyou to Kirsty over at Kootoyoo) My very messy kitchen with the washing up still lying around for all to see! (Mr Honi had a fit when I started to do this on the coffee table, and with good reason I guess. I do have a tendency to spill things!!)

This is my first attempt at my fabric printing.

• I used scrap booking foam I bought from Riot Art for $1 a sheet. It's really easy to cut and then super-glue onto perspex as a stamp. Plus you can scrub and wash it when you're done and re-use it lots of times!! ("Stitch. Rip.Repeat" had the brilliant idea for this!)
• Then I just used fabric paints (also from riot art) for the stamping. It gave it an interesting texture but I think I need to spread the paint a bit more evenly.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Although, I read a GREAT screen printing tutorial over at Anna Laura's blog which is well worth the read (Good descriptions of what you need to do, suppliers for stock and great "action" shots) so I might attempt that this weekend!

The lovely Kirsty over at Kootoyoo has started a new game! YAY!! Basically rather than only posting whats on my desk etc, you can post about wherever you've been crafty.

So, last night my creative space was my bed! Mr Honi bought me the BEST present EVER for Chrissie- a little book light that I can clip only my sewing to see better when I'm stitching at night!
