My Creative Space Thursday
This week sees my kitchen bench as my creative space (thankyou to Kirsty over at Kootoyoo) My very messy kitchen with the washing up still lying around for all to see! (Mr Honi had a fit when I started to do this on the coffee table, and with good reason I guess. I do have a tendency to spill things!!)
This is my first attempt at my fabric printing.
- I used scrap booking foam I bought from Riot Art for $1 a sheet. It's really easy to cut and then super-glue onto perspex as a stamp. Plus you can scrub and wash it when you're done and re-use it lots of times!! ("Stitch. Rip.Repeat" had the brilliant idea for this!)
- Then I just used fabric paints (also from riot art) for the stamping. It gave it an interesting texture but I think I need to spread the paint a bit more evenly.
I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Although, I read a GREAT screen printing tutorial over at Anna Laura's blog which is well worth the read (Good descriptions of what you need to do, suppliers for stock and great "action" shots) so I might attempt that this weekend!
