The blur that was Christmas...

Well Christmas whizzed past so quickly and next thing I know I'm back here at my desk at work. As I was on a big of a blog hiatus I thought I would share a few pics from the festive season. I found a cool application for my HTC Dream phone, called “Toy cam” which is AWESOME! Jess has a similar one for her iPhone – and I agree with her statement that you can’t beat a film camera, but this is still pretty darn cool

As mentioned Mr Honi and I drove up to QLD which was lovely. We saw the big prawn

And the big banana

Drove on dirt roads

And saw some cool things being towed

And we saw quaint little country homes that I would have KILLED to go into! I bet if Id’ dropped in we would have been served fresh scones with home made jams and tea in fine bone china teacups with matching saucers (well, that’s my little fantasy of country life!!)

We also got a bit festive at work and I made some HUGE spindles and baubles to decorate our team area

Good Deeds this Chrissie

I decided to do something with a bit of meaning this Christmas. So on Christmas Eve I went into the Salvation Army (with a heap of people from work) and helped set up for Christmas Lunch at the Carriage Works in Redfern. It was a huge day and although I only helped set up, I pictured the anticipated 1200+ people sitting down to a hearty meal on Christmas day and it did make me feel all warm and fuzzy....

Tell you what - it also restored my faith in humanity. Above is a picture of SOME of the presents donated over the chrissie period for needy children.

It's definitely something I'll be doing again next year

Bags, Tags and Cookies

I've been crafting up a storm last weekend. Baking, sewing, gluing, beading etc, etc. Mr Honi was quite amazed.

I managed to fulfil the orders I had at work for a few of these handy bags (great for lunch or a spare pair of shoes if you're walking to work)
these are the different materials I made some of them in. I love this yellow one above - it's was a pre-loved bed sheet from Vinnies!

(my camera is looking a little blurry around the edges. It had a little fall off the table on Sunday)

My present tags (i have a major thing for vintage baubles)

and the wonderful gingerbread men I made. The cookie cutters are super cute and have bites already taken out of them.
I am totally into the festive season now and can't wait to give presents on Thursday!!!

Chrissie Things..

a little late I know, but here is a picture of my Christmas Tree. It's a vinatge tree from the 1960's. You can't really teel from the image, but it's a gorgeous aqua/turquoise colour. It belonged to my grandparents, and when they decided one year that they wouldn't put it up, I decided to follow the tradition for them and use it my home.

I've also got a few precious, vintage glass ornaments on there, and the trimming is a string vintage glass balls.
This tree brings me so many lovely memories of wonderful Christmases.

and here is litle buttons (or "Steve" as Mr Honi has re-named her) on the new bed she chose for herself. No matter how much you spend on a bed, she prefers the "Roses Only" box I was ready to throw away!! What a "green" little kitty I have!!

Christmas Card Swap

Well I have been super busy making all my cards for Nikkishell's Christmas card swap. As you can see, my once neat craft room has been totally messed up - but i had a lot of fun doing it!!

Each card had to be made out of things that were either rececyled, or from your stash. I made a massive lot of cards last year, and had quite a lot of left over materials to use.

i like this one - i thoughtI was very clever making it too. I had some gorgeous Christmas fabric (only a tiny piece though) so I scanned it on the puter, and printed it out on recycled paper!! That way I can use as much as I want, and I won't run out!!

Think this is my fave - it's my Blythe (who i have owned for a couple of months now, but it still yet to be named!!) sitting in my garden in her little christams outfit I made her.
If you are a recipient of one of my cards, I hope you like them!! :)
To the girls who have sent me cards so far - I am LOVING them and am will post pics of them soon. Big Thankyous!!! xx
